About me

A little about me.

My name is Jürgen. I was born in 1976.

On the top right, that's my brother (in red) and me (in green). It was already clear to me that I would one day own a motorcycle. 🙂 But it took many, many years before I bought my first motorcycle at the age of around 30 - much to the dismay of some family members and relatives.

I grew up in the countryside, in Burgenland, near the Hungarian border. Over the years, I moved several times and lived in Vienna, Wiener Neustadt and Eisenstadt for several years. After years of moving and searching, I settled down near Eisenstadt.

I work in the IT sector and have worked as a programmer, in quality management, as an administrator, ... partly self-employed, partly as an employee for various companies.

I can't say exactly WHEN the travel bug broke out in me. According to my parents, I was always homesick as a child. When I was young, we often traveled mainly in Austria. Whenever we went somewhere, I always just wanted to go home.

It all started after my military service. I went into a travel agency (internet wasn't available like now in 1997) and left with a flight ticket for two weeks to Miami.

Arriving in Miami in the middle of the night, with no accommodation and no plan, a limousine driver immediately charged me a tidy sum to take me to Miami Beach. It was an excellent two weeks, part of which I spent in Miami and part in Key West.

Many experiences in different countries followed. But you can read about them on these pages, some with photos, some with travel reports.
